Doggie Biscuits in a Jar: Ingredients

1 quart wide-mouth glass canning jar
1 dog biscuit cookie cutter in any shape you like
16 inches colorful ribbon in a shade you like or even a print
1 large colorful envelope that you will punch a hole in the upper left hand corner
1 lightly packed cup of all-purpose unbleached flour
1 lightly packed cup of whole wheat flour
1/2 cup of quality yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup of instant nonfat dry milk powder
1 teaspoon of brown or granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder

Doggie Biscuits in a Jar: Baking Instructions

Put the dry ingredients in a medium size plastic bowl. Add to the bowl one large egg, 1/2 cup of quality shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup of finely grated Parmesan cheese, and 1/4 to 1/2 cup (or more) hot chicken broth, or very hot water. Combine together until you have a nice thick dough that you can easily work with. Let this dough stand for about five to ten minutes.

Roll the dough to about one inch thick. Cut with the cookie cutter. Bake for approximately one hour at 200 degrees.

Doggie Biscuits in a Jar: Putting the Gift Together

On a nice piece of note paper, write down or print out the instructions for baking. Place the dry ingredients into the quart jar. Seal the lid tight. Tie with the decorative ribbon. Put the envelope on the ribbon. Place the directions in the envelope.
